Carved in Stone

The series follows Amelia Sloane, a gifted historian and photography student who becomes entangled in her mentor Doctor Bishop’s legacy adventure when he tragically dies and leaves his collection of artifacts to her, including the legendary sword, Excalibur, and tasks her with its return to the Stone from which it was drawn. Amelia, thinking herself unworthy, entrusts the sword to a friend and college who turns out to be a wolf in sheep’s clothing and she is propelled into a race to reclaim the sword and fulfill her destiny.

Serving as Porter’s Master’s of Fine Arts thesis project in Film, he collaborated with the largest team in his directing career to date. Working with nearly 200 fellow SCAD students, and a few industry professionals, he developed a film and virtual production workflow to helm the massive hybrid project. As a Director, his collective combination of film, stage, and virtual production knowledge and experiences come together in line with his vision of becoming a filmmaker like James Cameron. With nearly $70K in funding for the project, provided through private investors, SCAD College of Film and Acting, and crowfunding efforts, Carved in Stone is Porter’s largest project to date.
