Lurid Woman

1920's speakeasy for those who live in hiding.

Lurid Woman is a short written and produced by Lance Hensley. This was an exciting film that challenged me as a director, because it was a unique visual dance. The film centers around an ensemble of 9 characters. For a film that is 7-8 mins long this is nearly impossible. And so I planned and prepped by doing the previs in Unreal Engine.

I was fortunate enough to use the app Polycam, to photogrammetry the locations we were foring to film.

The top being the main filming location.

I then brought in to Unreal and created a storyboard/shotlist. Complete with animation, props and lighting. For character standins I used TwinMotion Posed Humans. If i was to do it again, I would render out all the animations and cut it together for a proper animatic. But time was limited and the story boards would have to do.

You can see the boards below.
